Dental implants in Richmond: take your pick!
Dental implants are a fantastically versatile method of tooth replacement. You can replace a single missing tooth, multiple teeth or all of your teeth. At Sheen Dental Implants in Richmond, we offer a full range of implant options, under the leadership of our clinical director Dr Harmit Kalsi.
Dr Kalsi is a highly qualified implant dentist. He is one of the few dentists to have been awarded a diploma in Implantology from the Royal College of Surgeons (RCS). He passes on his knowledge by teaching undergraduate and postgraduate dental students, and is also an examiner at the RCS.
Harmit’s peers also acknowledge his expertise: other dentists refer patients to him for implant surgery. You really couldn’t put yourself in more capable hands for dental implants in Richmond. Here are your treatment options.
Single tooth
We can replace one tooth root with a single dental implant. This is a tiny titanium screw that is fitted into the jawbone. The bone grows around the implant, which fixes it in place. After a healing period of some weeks, we then fit a replacement crown onto the implant.
Multiple teeth
If you are missing two or three teeth in a row, you can be fitted with an implant-retained bridge. One or two implants are fitted into your jaw, then a bridge – two or three crowns that are fixed together – are secured onto the implants. Unlike with traditional bridges, the surrounding healthy teeth don’t need to be ground down to fix it in place, meaning that you keep more of your natural teeth.
All your teeth
A whole arch or a full set of teeth can be replaced with as little as four dental implants. A bridge or dentures can be fixed onto the implants, securing them in place and giving you back lost functionality. Biting, chewing and speaking are as good as new with implant-stabilised dentures.
