The All On 4 Dental Implant Technique Explained

So how does it work?
In the past it would have been necessary to use as many as 10 implants to secure an arch of teeth to the lower or upper jaw and to replace both sets of teeth could have meant as many as 20 implants. Most times this would involve patients needing bone grafts in order to make the jaw bone strong enough to support the implants and this would cost even more time and money.
The All on 4 concept is simple and clever. Longer implants are used in the back of the mouth and these are tilted to maximise the ratio of bone to implant which means that patients with a low level of bone density no longer need bone grafts. Implants that are placed in this manner provide an equal level of security and support as 6 to 10 implants placed in the conventional way would.
This revolutionary treatment means that patients can arrive at the surgery with no teeth and leave a couple of hours later will a full set of pearlies. Immediately following surgery the patient will be fitted with a temporary restoration and this is later replaced with custom-made final dentures which are non-removable and look and feel like natural teeth. The implant technique slows down bone loss, making the jaw more healthy and means that even patients with virtually no bone can have fixed teeth without the need for bone grafts. Provided the patient maintains a good level of oral hygiene and attends regular dental appointments, their new teeth can last for decades.
